The product is time.
Membership at Essential Pediatrics is built around time. Time for your doctor to know your child. Time on the phone when something does not feel right. Time to coordinate care with a specialist when your child needs one. Time for a 14-year-old to bring up something hard. Everything depends on having that time. The credentials. The depth of training. The partnership between Dr. Pring and Dr. Nordt.
We built Essential Pediatrics around a straightforward idea: your child deserves a pediatrician who truly knows them; not just their chart, but their personality, their history, what makes them anxious and what makes them laugh. That kind of relationship changes everything about the care your family receives.
One number. Your doctor. Always.
Call or text your child's pediatrician directly. Not a portal. Time is built into her day to call you back. Available after hours, on weekends, on holidays. During the day, if your doctor is tied up with a patient, one of our nurses will pick up so the call is always answered.
Same-day sick visits. Unhurried well visits.
When your child is sick, you are not waiting three days or sitting in urgent care. When your child is well, the visit takes as long as it needs to, not 15 minutes. We hold each doctor's panel to no more than 300 children so there is always time.
One trusted doctor through every age.
The same pediatrician from the first newborn visit to the end of college. Up to 23 years. Your child grows up knowing the doctor. The questions they get asked in the exam room, they answer themselves. When your child leaves for college, we get licensed in as many states as possible so the same trusted doctor stays the doctor through their college career. We commit to getting licensed in most states where our patients head for school. A handful of states close their licensing to out-of-state physicians.
Specialist coordination, owned by your doctor.
When your child needs a specialist, your pediatrician makes the introduction, talks to the specialist directly, reviews the notes, and stays the anchor for your child's whole medical team. We refer to the top pediatric specialists in the area based on your child's needs.
The full scope of pediatric care, one membership.
From newborn through young adulthood. The same doctor through every stage. One flat monthly fee, no add-ons, no surprises.
Well-child visits and immunizations.
Developmental screenings and the full vaccine schedule per the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines. We take the time to talk through nutrition, safety, and anything is on your mind.
Same-day sick care
Same-day sick visits. After-hours phone access for the calls that cannot wait. We would rather you reach for us than reach for Google.
Newborn & infant care
Hospital follow-ups, breastfeeding support, sleep guidance, and a doctor available the first time you call at 11pm because your baby has a fever.
Chronic and complex care
Children with ongoing health conditions need continuity and care coordination most. Your pediatrician maintains the full picture, talks to every specialist, adjusts the plan as your child grows, and is the constant in the medical team.
Adolescent & Young Adult Support
Dr. Nordt's adolescent-medicine training covers menstrual disorders, eating disorders, reproductive health, as well as pubertal and mental health concerns. Both Dr Pring and Dr Nordt completed a mini fellowship at the REACH institute, giving them added in depth training in pediatric mental health.
FAQs
Here are answers to some of the most common questions we receive from families.

Smaller panels mean more time for your child. Pricing is transparent. We do not bill insurance, so your doctor's recommendations are based on what your child needs, not what an insurer will pay for.
A flat monthly fee covers all of the care we provide. From newborn care to adolescent health, the same doctor through every stage. Personalized care plans that grow with your child.
